BESCHREIBUNG
The Local Barley is made each year from barley grown in or around Campbeltown. Each year a local farmer is commissioned to grow barley on behalf of Springb to produce this limited edition 'corn to jar'.

Different farms, barley varieties, cask aging and the time that the whiskey spends in the casks from one batch to the next allow our customers a unique taste experience every time.

TASTING NOTES
Nase
Nose		 Delicate oral notes kick off this dram, along with hints of digestive biscuits and a cereal note reminiscent of the malt barns. The bourbon influence is evident in notes of custard and custard creams. A fruity cherry note develops over time.
Gaumen
Palate		 The vanilla note from the nose develops into aromas of sweet, creamy Victoria biscuit on the palate. There are hints of honey and syrup balanced with fresh barley water.
Abgang
Finish		 A light and sweet finish, with hints of salted caramel rounding off this dram.

    Die Springbank-Destillerie ist eine Single-Malt-Whisky-Destillerie in Familienbesitz auf der Halbinsel Kintyre im Westen Schottlands. Sie befindet sich im Besitz von J & A Mitchell & Company.

    Springbank wurde 1828 lizenziert und ist einer der letzten überlebenden Hersteller von Single Malt Whisky in Campbeltown, einer Gegend, in der es einst über dreißig aktive Brennereien gab.

    Die Brennerei stellt drei Arten von Peated und unpeated Malt Whisky her, die sie unter drei verschiedenen Marken - Springbank, Longrow und Hazelburn - abfüllt.

    Der größte Teil des Destillats wird als Single Malt abgefüllt, ein kleiner Prozentsatz wird an größere Blender verkauft oder landet in einer der eigenen Blended Scotch-Marken von J&A Mitchell, wie Campbeltown Loch.

    Keiner der in dieser Brennerei hergestellten Malts wird kältegefiltert, und sie enthalten keine Farbstoffe, wie z. B. Karamell E150.

    Sie ist die einzige schottische Brennerei, die 100 % des Produktionsprozesses vor Ort durchführt.
