Collection Sullivan's Cove - Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky
In 1804, a group of military men, settlers, and convicts led by Captain David Collins settled at Sullivan's Cove on the west bank of the Derwent River. The vibrant and beautiful port city of Hobart later developed from the settlement.
Sullivans Cove Distillery pays tribute to the Muwinina people, the traditional owners of Hobart, whose ancestors roamed these lands long before anyone thought of making whiskey here.
Sullivans Cove Distillery was established in 1994 on its original site in the old Sullivans Cove Gas Works, making it the oldest commercial whiskey distillery in Tasmania. In its early days, Sullivans Cove's reputation was poor to say the least, but in 1999 the quality of the whiskey produced improved significantly with new owners.
In 2004 the distillery moved to its present location in Cambridge. Sullivan's Cove gained international recognition from 2007 , when their American Oak was named Best Other Malt (Whiskeys outside Scotland) at the World Whiskeys Awards and Liquid Gold (95/100) in Jim Murray's Whiskey Bible.

In 2014, when their French Oak Cask HH0525 was named Best Single Malt Whiskey in the World at the World Whiskeys Awards, the small distillery and the whole Tasmanian whiskey industry gained international recognition.
