  • anCnoc - Highlands Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The Knockdhu Distillery, the birthplace of anCnoc Single Malt Scotch Whisky, was established in 1894 in the heart of Banffshire, Scotland. Thanks to the visionary spirit of John Morrison, a region abundant in barley fields, peat, and clear, fresh water sources near Black Hill was chosen for whisky production. The Black Hill, or "Knockdhu" in Gaelic, not only provides the name but also the essential water sources for the whisky.

Despite its tumultuous history, the distillery has entered a new era of innovation since being acquired by Inver House Distillers in 1988, while still being renowned for its tradition. The distillery retains many of its original production processes, including the use of traditional copper pot stills, which give anCnoc its distinctive light, fresh taste.

Aging in American and Spanish oak barrels and the consistent conditions in the traditional Dunnage warehouses ensure a consistent and accessible character of anCnoc, appealing to both traditional and modern whisky enthusiasts. Led by Distillery Manager Gordon Bruce, also known as the "Men of Knock," anCnoc enjoys worldwide recognition and forms an irresistible link between long-standing traditions and modern-day whisky enthusiasts.
