Collection Royal Lochnagar - Highlands Single Malt Scotch Whisky
The Royal Lochnagar Distillery is a single malt Scotch whiskey distillery on the Abergeldie Estate in Royal Deeside in the Highland Whiskey Region of Scotland. It is located near Mount Lochnagar.
The distillery received royal approval in 1848 when John Begg invited Prince Albert to visit the distillery from nearby Balmoral Castle, the Queen's Highland residence. The next day, Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and their three eldest children visited the distillery. The distillery then became known as Royal Lochnagar.
Today Royal Lochnagar is leased by Diageo from the Abergeldie Estate and the distillery produces a relatively small volume of whiskey which is mostly used for Johnnie Walker Black and Blue Label.
