Nantou - Taiwanese whiskey

Located in Nantou Hsien, Taiwan, Nantou Distillery was founded in 1978 by Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation, a Taiwanese state-owned tobacco and alcohol manufacturer. However, she did not produce her first whiskey until 2008.

Prior to 2010, the mash, wort and liquor were produced at a nearby brewery that Nantou no longer used when the distillery installed its own German mash tun and wash kettle.

The whiskey is made with imported barley from Scotland and pure underflow water sourced from Taiwan's central mountain range and flowing through the ancient forest in Nantou Paowei Mountain.
