Collection Bulleit - Bourbon & Rye Whiskey

In 1987, Thomas E. Bulleit Jr. fulfilled his lifelong dream of reviving an old family recipe for bourbon by founding the Bulleit Distilling Company. Inspired by his great-great-grandfather, Augustus Bulleit, who made a strong whiskey between 1830 and 1860, Tom left a successful law firm and risked everything to experience life on the frontier.

As a tavern owner in 1830s Louisville, Kentucky, Augustus Bulleit had a single goal: to create a bourbon with a unique flavor. After experimenting with countless strains, he finally found a bourbon with the character he had been looking for.

One fateful day, while transporting his bourbon casks from Kentucky to New Orleans, Augustus Bulleit disappeared. What happened remains unknown to this day, and his creation almost disappeared into history with him.

To this day, Bulleit™ Bourbon is distilled and aged in the tradition of the Bulleit family. The high proportion of rye gives it a strong, spicy character with an unmistakably smooth, clean finish. Limestone-filtered Kentucky water lays the foundation for the bourbon's character, while charred American oak casks lend it a smoky backbone.

As Bulleit enthusiasts know, rye has always been the cornerstone. In this tradition, Bulleit™ Rye is a pure rye whiskey made from 95% rye and 5% malted barley. It is a whiskey of unparalleled flavor and complexity.
