Empire Rye - American Whiskey

In 2015, six leading New York State distilleries formed a consortium to establish a whiskey style for the Empire State. This whiskey should be as distinctive, precisely made and of the same high standard as any other famous style of whiskey in the world. And so Empire Rye was born - a tribute to the heritage of rye whiskey making in pre-prohibition New York State and a testament to the ingenuity and industriousness of today's distillers.

Each distillery bottles Empire Rye to the same exacting specifications while still leaving plenty of room for creativity. It is hoped that over time, more New York distilleries will decide to produce a rye whiskey to these standards and promote the Empire Rye category around the world.
