Collection Amrut-Indian Whisky

Amrut Distilleries Ltd is an Indian company best known for its eponymous Amrut single malt whiskey brand, which is the first single malt whiskey to be produced in India .

The brand rose to fame after world-renowned whiskey connoisseur Jim Murray gave it an 82 out of 100 rating in 2005 and 2010 respectively. In 2010, Murray named Amrut Fusion Single Malt Whiskey the third best whiskey in the world. John Hansell, editor of the American magazine Whiskey Advocate, wrote that "India's Amrut distillery changed the way many think about Indian whiskey - that in the past it was just cheap Scotch whiskey mixed with who knows which was blended and sold as Indian whiskey. Amrut makes whiskey and it's very good".

Despite the fame the company has gained from single malt whisky, this accounted for only 4-5% of the company's revenue in 2011/12. The bulk of revenue comes from the sale of brandy, rum, vodka, gin and blended whiskey, particularly the Silver Oak Brandy, Old Port Rum and Prestige Whiskey brands. About 20% of the income comes from supplying the canteen department.

Amrut Distilleries currently sells Amrut Single Malt Whiskey in 23 countries including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Singapore, Spain, South Africa, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
