Collection Balvenie - Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Balvenie Distillery is a Speyside single malt Scotch whiskey distillery in Dufftown, Scotland owned by William Grant & Sons.

Balvenie was established in 1892 on 30 acres adjacent to Glenfiddich. The distillery was originally called Glen Gordon, taking its name from the huge (ruined) castle that was next door. The "new" castle, which had already fallen into disrepair in 1893, was converted into a malt house.

The distillery supplied bottlings, most notably Grant's Standfast Blend, until 1973 when the first official bottling was made. The continued need for bottling for blends initially limited its growth as a standalone brand (even as its cult status grew). This situation eased somewhat with the opening of Kininvie in 1990, but it was not until the construction of Ailsa Bay that larger stocks were finally made available. Today, Balvenie is one of the fastest growing single malt brands in the world.
