Macallan Whiskey - Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The Macallan Distillery is a single malt Scotch whiskey distillery in Craigellachie, Moray, Scotland. The Macallan Distillers Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Edrington Group, which acquired the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.

The Macallan is widely regarded as the second or third best selling single malt Scotch after Glenfiddich and, by some accounts, Glenlivet.

Originally, The Macallan was matured exclusively in oak sherry casks brought to the distillery from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. Beginning in 2004, The Macallan introduced a new flagship product, the Fine Oak Series, where the whiskey was aged in both bourbon oak casks and sherry casks. In 2018 the Fine Oak series was renamed Triple Cask Matured.

Since 2004, The Macallan has also offered single malt bottlings as part of the Fine Oak range, whose whiskey has been matured in used casks other than ex-sherry casks.
