Eimverk is a family-run distillery founded in 2009 with the aim of producing high-quality Icelandic spirits using only local ingredients, and produces three spirits: Flóki, a single malt whisky, Vor, a pot-distilled gin, and Víti, a special version of the Icelandic Brennivín.
Their whisky, Flóki, is the first of its kind in Iceland; handcrafted over 4 years of 163 trial distillations and maturation tests to ensure the perfect recipe, the distillery uses its own custom-built still to extract the full flavour from the barley and matures the whisky in new American oak casks.
The result is a complex malt with a unique blend of characteristics found in bourbon, Scotch and Irish whiskies.The Icelandic barley variety is hardy and selected to thrive in the short, intense Icelandic summer. It gives the whisky a sweet maltiness and a blend of spicy notes, and Flóki is the first and only Icelandic whisky to continue the tradition of breaking new ground: The distillery's sheep dung-smoked reserve is the first of its kind in the world.
