For more than two centuries, this Scottish sanctuary has been steeped in whiskey history. On the fertile farmland of the Cawdor Estate in the Scottish Highlands lies the Royal Brackla Distillery, founded in 1812 by Captain William Fraser.

Royal Brackla was the first Scotch whiskey to be granted a Royal Approval by King William IV in 1833 - The King's Own Whisky, which is still valid today. The distillery's style is opulent and fruity with rich sherry notes. Each expression of Royal Brackla is matured in the finest first-fill sherry casks, sourced direct from Spain, to ensure a sumptuous result for a fine beverage.

This 18 year old bottling is complex with rich spices, creamy vanilla, large juicy berries, cocoa powder and brightened with hints of citrus.

  • Royal Brackla - Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

    Die Royal Brackla Distillery ist eine schottische Highland-Whisky-Destillerie auf dem Cawdor Estate in der Nähe von Nairn in Schottland. Die Brennerei wird von John Dewar & Sons Ltd für Bacardi betrieben.

    Royal Brackla hat einen Maischebottich von 12,5 Tonnen und acht Wash Backs mit einem Gesamtvolumen von 480.000 Litern. Cawdor Burn ist die ständige Wasserversorgung für Royal Brackla, wobei die Cursack Springs für die Maische verwendet werden.

    Die Brennerei verwendet vier Brennblasen zur Herstellung ihres Whiskys, zwei Wash Stills mit einer Gesamtkapazität von 42.000 Litern und zwei Spirit Stills mit einer Gesamtkapazität von 42.000 Litern. Der Gärungsprozess dauert insgesamt 70 Stunden, danach folgt die Destillation.

    Die großen Royal Brackla-Brennblasen, die so konstruiert sind, dass sie viel Rückfluss ermöglichen, werden bei der Destillation langsam betrieben, um die Mischung zu glätten, den Kupferkontakt zu maximieren und einen leichten Brand zu erzeugen. Der letzte Schritt ist die Reifung, die in Eichenfässern stattfindet.
