DESCRIPTION

The Glenlossie 2010, carefully selected by Wilson & Morgan for their "Barrel Selection - Cask Strength" series, is an outstanding example of Scottish craftsmanship. This single malt was distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2023 after a 12-year maturation, including a 30-month finish in a First Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt. With cask numbers 10866 and 10867, and a limited edition of only 569 bottles, this whisky presents an alcohol strength of 54.5% ABV.

This exceptional Scotch is distinguished by its deep integration of sherry influences, seamlessly blending with the delicate, fruity, and nutty characteristics of Glenlossie malt. The flavor palette includes rich notes of dark chocolate, dried fruits, and subtle spice, highlighted by the sherry cask. On the palate, the whisky offers a complex structure with hints of oak, vanilla, and a long-lasting, warming finish.

Glenlossie - Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Die Glenlossie-Destillerie liegt südlich von Elgin, im Dorf Thomshill in Schottland. Glenlossie war schon immer eine der wichtigsten Brennereien in der Speyside.
1962 wurden ihre vier Brennblasen auf sechs erweitert, und seit 1971 teilt sie sich den Standort mit Mannochmore.
Hier befindet sich auch eine Anlage für dunklen Treber, in der Treber, Pot Ale und Trub aus den nahe gelegenen Diageo-Standorten verarbeitet werden.
Der Standort verfügt außerdem über 14 Lagerhäuser, in denen 250.000 Fässer mit Spirituosen und Whisky aus denselben Diageo-Destillerien reifen.

Wilson & Morgan, an independent whisky bottler from Italy, has been known since 1992 for offering a fine selection of rare Scotch malt whiskies. The company specializes in single malts that age between 10 and 30 years, sometimes further matured in port, rum, or Marsala casks. These meticulously selected malts are then distributed globally to discerning consumers, including in select outlets, Michelin-starred restaurants, and wine and gourmet shops.
The history of Wilson & Morgan is closely linked with the Venetian Rossi family. In the 1920s, Giuseppe Rossi, a wine and oil merchant and grandfather of today's chairman Fabio Rossi, moved his residence from Venice to Treviso. After World War II, his son Mario expanded the business and began importing whisky from Scotland in the 1960s. Initially, predominantly blended whiskies were introduced until the demand for more sophisticated taste profiles led to the introduction of single malts.
Wilson & Morgan is known for the careful selection and personal inspection of each cask by Fabio Rossi, who mastered the art of winemaking in Conegliano. This precision and trust in one's own palate make Wilson & Morgan a particularly excellent choice for lovers of fine and rare single malts.
