BESCHREIBUNG

This young octomore was distilled in 2011 and aged in ex-bourbon casks for more than eight years. As expected, it's full of pungent smoke but also offers an abundance of citrus and toasted cereal notes. A total of 870 bottles were produced.

TASTING NOTES
Nase
Nose		 burned matches and iodine softened by lemon and orange peel, canned fruit and maraschino cherries. Adding a drop of water reveals luscious melted caramel and ginger.
Gaumen
Palate		 The chewy texture immediately erupts with hot peat and astringent smoke before opening onto sea salt and black pepper. The seasoning is followed by a generous helping of grapefruit jam on toasted rye bread.
Abgang
Finish		 Dry finish with more citrus, barley malt, tarragon and green tomatoes.

  • Octomore - Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

    Octomore ist der wohl rauchigste Single Malt Whisky der Welt und wird von der Bruichladdich-Brennerei auf Islay hergestellt.

    Die Chargen haben Torfgehalte von bis zu 208 ppm erreicht, was deutlich über den Werten anderer Islay-Brennereien liegt, die selten 60 ppm überschreiten. Die Phenole sind bei etwas niedrigerem Alter am ausdrucksvollsten, was dazu führt, dass typische Abfüllungen nur 5-10 Jahre reifen.
