BESCHREIBUNG
The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 Years Single Malt Whiskey was matured for 14 years in traditional oak whiskey casks and then "finished" in casks in which Caribbean rum was previously stored.

To achieve the ideal finish, Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE filled American oak casks with his own blend of select West Indian rums.

When the casks were finished, the rum was replaced with the 14 year old spirit and the wood received the finishing touches.

The result is an exceptional single malt whiskey with the traditional smooth, honeyed character of The Balvenie, coupled with notes of toffee and hints of fruit, with a warm, lingering finish.

Nase
Nose		 Rich, sweet and creamy toffee on the nose combined with fresh fruit notes.
Gaumen
Palate		 Rounded out with vanilla and sweet oak notes, with a fruity character that develops over time.

    Die Balvenie-Brennerei ist eine Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky-Brennerei in Dufftown, Schottland, im Besitz von William Grant & Sons.

    Balvenie wurde 1892 auf einem 12 Hektar großen Gelände neben Glenfiddich errichtet. Ursprünglich hieß die Destillerie Glen Gordon und erhielt den Namen der riesigen (verfallenen) Burg, die sich nebenan befand. Das "neue" Schloss, das 1893 bereits verfallen war, wurde zu einer Mälzerei umgebaut.

    Die Brennerei lieferte Abfüllungen, vor allem für den Grant's Standfast Blend, bis 1973, als die erste offizielle Abfüllung vorgenommen wurde. Der fortgesetzte Bedarf an Abfüllungen für Blends schränkte zunächst das Wachstum als eigenständige Marke ein (auch wenn der Kultstatus zunahm).

    Mit der Eröffnung von Kininvie im Jahr 1990 wurde diese Situation etwas entschärft, aber erst mit dem Bau von Ailsa Bay wurden schließlich größere Bestände zur Verfügung gestellt. Heute ist Balvenie eine der am schnellsten wachsenden Single-Malt-Marken der Welt.
