A creation of Sakurao Brewery & Distillery, formerly Chugoku Jozo, Togouchi Pure Malt is a blend of single malts imported from various distilleries and then aged and bottled in Japan.

This very lightly peated whiskey shows a pleasantly greedy nose with notes of vanilla, chocolate and ripe apricots, which are joined on the palate by aromas of fresh cream, while the fine peat shines through. In the finish, notes of bitter cocoa and hazelnut accompany the slowly disappearing peat. Togouchi Pure Malt surprises with its strong character, which derives from the careful selection of sherry and bourbon casks, in which the single malts are aged between 3 and 9 years.

  • Togouchi - Blended Japanese Whisky

    Togouchi ist ein Whisky, der von der japanischen Brennerei Chugoku Jozo (Sakurao) in der Nähe von Hiroshima hergestellt wird.

    Diese Brennerei stellt seit 1918 Likör, Sake und Shochu, einen traditionellen japanischen Alkohol, her. Im Jahr 1990 begann sie mit der Herstellung von Whisky, und die Marke Togouchi war geboren.

    Seitdem hat Chugoku Jozo seine Fähigkeiten und Techniken weiterentwickelt und verfeinert, um einige der allerbesten japanischen Spirituosen herzustellen. Aus streng ausgewählten Malz- und Getreidesorten lässt der Master Blender die Destillate zunächst in Japan reifen, bevor sie auf elegante Weise nach "japanischer Art" geblendet werden.

    Die Togouchi-Whiskys reifen alle in einer einzigartigen Umgebung - einem 361 Meter langen Tunnel, der 1970 gebaut wurde. Dank einer konstanten Temperatur von 14°C und einer Luftfeuchtigkeit von 80% bietet er ideale Bedingungen für die Reifung.

    Die Marke Togouchi besteht aus Blended Whiskys, die die Verkörperung von Finesse und Präzision sind und die wertvollen Ressourcen der Erde - Gerste und Wasser - ehren.
