TASTING NOTES
Nase
Nose		 Powerful, fresh and clean, with increasing complexity like a gathering storm. Sweet maltiness with ripe red berry fruit gives way to smoke, brine and a burst of pepper.
Gaumen
Palate		 Soft and rich, then very spicy: a pure, tongue-flattering sweetness combines with a nutty smokiness to embrace the spicier notes.
Abgang
Finish		 Dry and of medium length, with a lingering, soft aftertaste that reveals a slightly peaty burnt glow.

  • Talisker - Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky

    Die Talisker-Brennerei ist eine schottische Single-Malt-Whisky-Destillerie mit Sitz in Carbost, Schottland, auf der Halbinsel Minginish auf der Isle of Skye.

    Die Brennerei wird von Diageo betrieben, und der 10 Jahre alte Talisker-Whisky wurde als Teil der Classic Malts-Serie nominiert. Die Marke gilt als Premium Single Malt Whisky.

    Die Spirituose wird zumeist in Fässern aus amerikanischer Eiche gereift. Das Malz wird bis zu einem Phenolgehalt von etwa 18-22 Teilen pro Million (ppm) getorft, was einem mittleren Torfgehalt entspricht. Außerdem fließt das zur Herstellung verwendete Wasser aus Cnoc nan Speireag (Hawk Hill) über Torf, was dem Whisky zusätzliche Komplexität verleiht.

    Anfang der 2000er-Jahre begann die Brennerei mit der Herstellung von Spezialabfüllungen für Kenner, wobei es eine 20- und eine 25-jährige Abfüllung gab (vorher waren nur eine 10- und eine 18-jährige erhältlich).

    Die 25-jährige Abfüllung war zwar teurer als die 20-jährige Abfüllung, wurde aber weiter verbreitet.

    Im Jahr 2007 wurde der 18-jährige Talisker bei den World Whiskies Awards als "Best Single Malt In The World 2007" ausgezeichnet, und im Jahr 2015 gewann der 10-jährige Talisker bei der San Francisco World Spirits Competition eine Doppelgoldmedaille und den Preis "Best Single Malt Scotch up to 12 years".
