DESCRIPTION

The Longrow 7 Years Red Pinot Noir Limited Edition 2024 is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland. This limited edition has an alcohol content of 57.1% ABV and is characterized by a special cask maturation. The whisky spent the first four years of its maturation in refill bourbon casks and was then aged for another three years in French Pinot Noir wine casks from Burgundy. This maturation gives the whisky its depth and complexity.

The flavor profile of the Longrow 7 Years Red Pinot Noir is layered and intense. On the nose, herbal and vegetal notes are present, accompanied by aromas of tomato plants and heather, complemented by nuances of sour cherries and smoked bacon. On the palate, sweet and savory flavors come together, with hints of smoked ham, wine gums, raspberry jam, and honey. The finish is maritime, with a salty note and hints of red apple skins.

Longrow - Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Die Longrow Distillery ist tatsächlich keine eigenständige Brennerei, sondern eine Marke, die in der Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, Schottland, produziert wird. Die Marke Longrow wurde 1973 eingeführt, um einen stark getorften und doppelt destillierten Whisky zu erzeugen, der an die traditionellen Campbeltown-Whiskys erinnert. Die Gebäude der ehemaligen Longrow Distillery, die 1824 gegründet und 1896 geschlossen wurde, beherbergen heute die Abfüllhalle von Springbank.
Longrow ist bekannt für seine stark getorften Single Malts, die für ihr intensives, rauchiges Geschmacksprofil geschätzt werden. Zu den beliebtesten Abfüllungen gehören der Longrow Peated, der für seine Noten von Vanille, Kräutern und reifen Früchten bekannt ist, sowie der Longrow Red, eine jährlich erscheinende limitierte Serie, die in verschiedenen Rotweinfässern nachgereift wird. Ein interessanter historischer Aspekt ist, dass die Marke Longrow ihren Namen von einer historischen Brennerei in Campbeltown hat, deren Geschichte bis ins 19. Jahrhundert zurückreicht. Springbank selbst wurde 1828 gegründet und ist heute eine der wenigen verbliebenen Brennereien in Campbeltown, die vollständig unabhängig sind und den gesamten Produktionsprozess vor Ort durchführen.
