DESCRIPTION

The Loch Lomond Inchmurrin 12 Years is a single malt Scotch whisky that matures in three different types of casks: bourbon barrels, refill casks, and reconditioned oak casks.

This unique maturation imparts a rich flavor profile ranging from fruity notes like peach, apricot, and orange to sweet nuances of toffee and vanilla.

The finish is medium-length and slightly peppery, adding a pleasant spiciness. With an alcohol content of 46% Vol., it supports the complex flavor experience without overwhelming. Inchmurrin 12 Years is not chill-filtered and is colored with caramel color.

This blend of traditional craftsmanship and careful cask selection makes the Loch Lomond Inchmurrin 12 Years an exemplary representative of the Scottish Highlands.

TASTING NOTES

Nase Nose	Distinctively fruity with pear drops and toffee sweetness; light notes of freshly cut hay in summer sun.

Loch Lomond - Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Der erste Standort der ehemaligen Loch Lomond Distillery geht auf das Jahr 1814 zurück und befand sich am Nordende des Loch Lomond in der Nähe von Tarbet. Das heutige Unternehmen wurde 1964 von den ehemaligen Besitzern der Littlemill Distillery in Bowling gegründet.
Die Produktion in Loch Lomond begann im darauf folgenden Jahr, 1965. Im Jahr 1984 stellte die Brennerei die Produktion ein, bis die Glen Catrine Bonded Warehouses das Unternehmen übernahmen und 1987 die Malzproduktion wieder aufnahmen.
Die Produktion von Grain Whisky wurde 1993 aufgenommen, und 1999 kamen zwei neue Malt Stills hinzu. Als die Grain-Destillerie 1994 eröffnet wurde, war sie die einzige Brennerei in Schottland, die sowohl Grain- als auch Malt-Whisky herstellt. Außerdem verfügt sie über eine einzigartige Anordnung von drei Brennblasen.
Im Jahr 2014 wurde die Brennerei im Rahmen eines Management Buy In unter der Leitung von CEO Colin Matthews zusammen mit der in London ansässigen Private-Equity-Gruppe Exponent übernommen.
Im Jahr 2016 wurden weitere neue Destillierapparate installiert, so dass nun sowohl Grain Whisky, Single Malt Whisky und Single Grain Whisky als auch Blended Whisky auf demselben Gelände hergestellt werden können. Die Abfüllanlage in Glen Catrine in Ayrshire ist eine der größten und produziert derzeit mehr als 65 Millionen Flaschen Whisky und andere Spirituosen pro Jahr.
Die Whiskys von Loch Lomond wurden bei vielen renommierten Preisverleihungen ausgezeichnet, z. B. San Francisco World Spirits Awards, International Wine & Spirits Competition, World Whisky Awards, International Spirits Challenge und The Scotch Whisky Masters.
