The Isle of Raasay Hebridean Distillers are true pioneers. Since the founding of their distillery, whiskey has been distilled legally on the wildly beautiful Hebridean island for the first time. And: Your Isle of Raasay Single Malt matures in a barrel combination that is new to Scotland.

"Na Sia" (Gaelic for "the six") is what the island distillers call their unique whiskey recipe. It combines peated and unpeated spirits from the distillery. Both raw spirits mature separately on Raasay's coast in three types of casks: First Fill Rye Whiskey Casks, Virgin Chinkapin Oak Casks and First Fill Bordeaux Red Wine Casks.

In the Na Sia Single Cask series, the unmistakable aromas of each of these six casks come into their own.

For the "Peated Chinkapin" bottling, the barrels made from the North American oak species were freshly charred and roasted. This treatment gives the single malt a rich color early on and a strong aroma characterized by sweet toffee, dark fruits and ginger.
