BESCHREIBUNG
Takesada Oji from Japan, Sebastian Jäger from the Black Forest and Boris Borisov from Munich are known for lighting beacons with their independent bottlings. As part of the new "Lighthouse Series", the Wu Dram Clan has now found a dram exclusively for Kirsch Import that sends signals that can be seen from afar into the whiskey landscape: Invergordon 1965/2021 is the oldest single grain Scotch whiskey ever bottled by the distillery.

With an incredible volume of over 30 million liters per year, Invergordon is Scotland's largest grain distillery. Nevertheless: Independent bottlings from the Highland distillery, founded in 1960, are rare. Anyone who can secure one of the 228 bottles of the 55-year-old single grain Scotch whiskey will be rewarded with a wonderful old-school aroma combined with a surprising freshness.

Notes of mint, coconut, banana or pineapple meet soft, round grain and oak notes with pleasant lightness.

TASTING NOTES
Nase
Nose
Very light and soft. The general coconut notes seem to have dissipated over the years, and ripe bananas, canned pineapple and guavas with marzipan and fresh citrus emerge more prominently. Minty notes with natural vanilla. A hint of fragrant sandalwood, caramelized nuts with a great hype note.
Gaumen
Palate
It lacks the thick, creamy side often found in grains. Fresh citrus, dried ginger, still some pineapple notes. Pleasant acidic notes that make it brighter. An oaky note, but in a sweet and round way. Almonds and a hint of white pepper on the finish.
Abgang
Finish
Surprisingly long, with bananas, nutmeg and a pinch of pepper.

  • Invergordon - Highland Grain Whisky
