DESCRIPTION

After nearly a century without a distillery, GlenWyvis revived the distillery tradition in Dingwall, Highland, in 2016, with an impressive crowdfunding campaign, creating the world's first entirely community-owned distillery with the support of over 3,000 contributors.

The GlenWyvis 2018/2024, a single cask release reaching German markets, is made from local barley and undergoes a long fermentation of about 96 hours before maturing in First Fill Oloroso Sherry Butts powered by renewable energy. This whisky, available in 671 bottles at 61.5% vol. Cask Strength, offers an authentic tasting experience.

    Mehr als 3.600 Unterstützer machten das Projekt GlenWyvis Distillery möglich. Die 2015 in den schottischen Highlands nahe Inverness gegründete Whiskybrennerei ist vollständig in Gemeinschaftsbesitz.

    Eine rekordverdächtige Crowdfunding-Kampagne finanzierte das Projekt im Wert von 3,8 Millionen Pfund und ließ nach 90 Jahren die Brennereitradition der Stadt Dingwall wieder aufleben.

    Eingebettet zwischen den Ausläufern des Ben Wyvis bringt GlenWyvis erneuerbare Energien (die Brennerei ist komplett unabhängig vom Stromnetz) mit lokaler Gerste, langer Fermentation und traditionellen Kupferbrennblasen zusammen.

    So entsteht ein robuster Single Malt, duftend und fruchtig. Ende 2021 veröffentlichte die kleine Brennerei ihren ersten Whisky. Jetzt ist der GlenWyvis Batch 2 / 2018 Vintage verfügbar.
