DESCRIPTION

After nearly a century without a distillery, GlenWyvis revived the distillery tradition in Dingwall, Highland, in 2016, with an impressive crowdfunding campaign, creating the world's first entirely community-owned distillery with the support of over 3,000 contributors.

The GlenWyvis 2018/2024, a single cask release reaching German markets, is made from local barley and undergoes a long fermentation of about 96 hours before maturing in First Fill Oloroso Sherry Butts powered by renewable energy. This whisky, available in 671 bottles at 61.5% vol. Cask Strength, offers an authentic tasting experience.

    More than 3,600 supporters made the GlenWyvis Distillery project possible. Founded in 2015 in the Scottish Highlands near Inverness, this whisky distillery is entirely community-owned. A record-breaking crowdfunding campaign financed the £3.8 million project, reviving the distillery tradition of the town of Dingwall after 90 years.

    Nestled between the foothills of Ben Wyvis, GlenWyvis combines renewable energy (the distillery is completely off-grid) with local barley, long fermentation, and traditional copper stills. This results in a robust single malt, fragrant and fruity.
