DESCRIPTION
Tradition wird bei Glencadam großgeschrieben. Seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 1825 arbeitet die kleine Highland-Brennerei nach den gleichen Methoden – und kann sogar als eine von wenigen in Schottland ein funktionierendes Wasserrad zu Innenausstattung und Stromkreis zählen.

Die Zeit bleibt bei aller Traditionsliebe ebenso wenig stehen wie das Mühlrad. Und so ist Glencadam auch experimentell unterwegs. Bestes Beispiel: Der Glencadam 15 y.o. Reserva De Porto Branco White Port Cask Finish.

Destilliert 2006, reifte die limitierte Sonderedition zunächst in Bourbonfässern, die Master Distiller Robert Fleming anschließend für ein Finale in White Port Casks auswählte.

„Porto Branco“ oder weißer Portwein basiert auf Weißweintrauben, ist frisch, intensiv fruchtig und eine hervorragende Ergänzung für Glencadams charakteristisches Profil.

Wie das schmeckt? Nach roten Beerenfrüchten, Victoria-Biskuitkuchen und Rhabarberkompott. Weltweit sind 3.684 Flaschen verfügbar.

  • Glencadam - Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

    The Glencadam Distillery is a distillery in Brechin, Angus, Scotland, is owned by Angus Dundee plc and produces a malt whisky. The rest of the production is sold to blenders or used within Angus Dundee for the production of blended whisky brands.

    Glencadam was mothballed during both World Wars. The warehouses were instead used as barracks for soldiers. On the lawn next to Warehouse No. 2, the spot where the commissariats were located can still be seen.

    Glencadam was acquired by Hiram Walker in the 1950s, which later became Allied Domeq, closing the distillery in 2000.

    Glencadam Single Malt has always been a premium whisky for blending and, as such, was highly sought after for some of the world's most prestigious blends.

    On June 1, 2003, Glencadam was finally purchased by Angus Dundee Distillers, an independent Scottish company. Angus Dundee immediately resumed production, and in December 2005, we launched our first single malt product, Glencadam Single Malt Scotch Whisky Aged 15 Years. This whisky was introduced in November 2009 with new packaging and a 10-year-old bottling.
