This 25 year old single grain whiskey is matured in American white oak casks from which it gets its natural golden amber colour.

It shows a balanced and silky-soft character with richly sweet taste nuances reminiscent of crème brûlée and caramel.

TASTING NOTES
Nase
Nose		 Rich and luxurious on the nose with layers of oaky vanilla, creamy toffee and cinnamon. With a little water there are subtle citrus and jam notes.
Gaumen
Palate		 Velvety soft with an incredibly sweet taste. Crème brule, toffee apple, nutmeg and an intriguing citrus note. Over time, the flavor evolves into deeper, richer notes, including chocolate, orange, and baked apple pie.

    Die Girvan-Destillerie ist eine Lowland-Grain-Whisky-Destillerie in South Ayrshire, Schottland. Die Brennerei ist im Besitz von William Grant & Sons. Die Destillerie ist nach der Stadt Girvan benannt. Die Brennerei ist als eine der energieeffizientesten Brennereien in Schottland bekannt.

    Die Girvan-Brennerei wurde 1963 erbaut, und 1963 wurde die erste Coffey-Destillerie installiert, was mit der ersten offiziellen Abfüllung gefeiert wurde.

    Der Grund für den Bau der Destillerie durch William Grant & Sons war ein Streit zwischen der Familie Grant und der DCL. Unter der strengen Aufsicht von Charles Grant Gordon wurde die Girvan-Brennerei innerhalb von neun Monaten nach dem ersten Spatenstich gebaut und produzierte Alkohol.

    1985 führte das Unternehmen seinen Export-Single-Grain-Whisky Black Barrel auf den Märkten in Spanien, Portugal und Italien ein.
