This Dram Mor Deanston matured in oak barrels for 8 years and was then bottled in a unique refill Palo Cortado for an indefinite period of time. This whiskey has produced 249 bottles and has a cask strength of 55.3% ABV.

Dram Mor is an independent bottler based in Dumbarton, Scotland.

TASTING NOTES
Nase
Nose		 A strange but enticing combination of ash and pear drops, very, very refreshing.
Gaumen
Palate		 Pleasantly dry, hints of sweetness with strong earthy spiciness and a sharp, exciting acidity.
Abgang
Finish		 Oddly soft and delicately sweet, a total transformation on the palate, for such a bold, almost aggressive start, the finish is almost winning. Long afterwards the palate tingles, which is pleasantly reminiscent of Szechuan pepper.

    Die Deanston Distillery ist eine Single Malt Scotch Whisky-Brennerei am Ufer des Flusses Teith, acht Meilen von der historischen Stadt Stirling entfernt, am Tor zum dramatischen Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park.

    Sie ist die größte Brennerei im Besitz des schottischen Whiskyherstellers Distell Group Limited, dem auch die Bunnahabhain Distillery auf der Isle of Islay und die Tobermory Distillery auf der Isle of Mull gehören.

    Die Deanston Distillery wurde 1785 als von Sir Richard Arkwright entworfene Baumwollspinnerei gegründet und blieb 180 Jahre lang als solche erhalten, bis sie 1966 in eine Brennerei umgewandelt wurde.

    Die ständige Versorgung mit reinem Wasser aus dem Fluss Teith trug zu der Entscheidung bei, die Mühle in eine Brennerei umzuwandeln, und Deanston ist heute die einzige Brennerei in Schottland, die sich selbst mit Strom versorgt, der von einer Wasserkraftanlage vor Ort erzeugt wird.
