A single cask of 2010 Craigellachie 11 Year Old bottled by Berry Brothers & Rudd to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year.

This 2010 Craigellachie comes from Sherry Cask #10028, the contents of which went through another Oloroso Sherry finish before being bottled at its mighty cask strength of 60.6%, making 550 bottles from the cask.

TASTING NOTES
Nase
Nose		 Strong aromas of burnt matches and malting barley give way to muscular notes of dates, clove rock and sultana bread.
Gaumen
Palate		 Honey, almonds, plums with hints of lime and mango.
Abgang
Finish		 Wood spice with an array of baking spices dancing on the tongue.

    Die Craigellachie-Destillerie ist eine Single Malt Scotch Whisky-Destillerie in Aberlour, Banffshire, in der Nähe des Dorfes Craigellachie im Zentrum des schottischen Whiskyanbaugebiets Speyside.

    Der Name Craigellachie bedeutet "felsiger Hügel" und bezieht sich auf die Klippe, die den Spey gegenüber der Brennerei The Macallan überragt.

    Bacardi betreibt die Destillerie über seine Tochtergesellschaft Dewar & Sons. Dewar & Sons kontrolliert auch Royal Brackla, Aberfeldy, Aultmore und Macduff.

    Die Craigellachie-Destillerie wurde 1891 von der Craigellachie Distillery Co. Limited, einer Gruppe von Blendern und Kaufleuten unter der Leitung von Alexander Edward, errichtet. Zwei Jahre später wurde sie als Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung gegründet und 1896 in Craigellachie-Glenlivet Distillery Ltd. umgewandelt.

    In den folgenden Jahren ging sie in den Besitz von Peter Mackie (1916), der Distillery Company Limited (1927) und der SMD (1930) über. Mit der Übergabe an SMD begann für Craigellachie eine Zeit der Stabilität; abgesehen von einem Umbau in den Jahren 1964-65, bei dem die Zahl der Pot Stills verdoppelt wurde, tat sich relativ wenig in der Brennerei.

    Im Jahr 1998 wurde sie an John Dewar & Sons verkauft.
