  • Cragganmore - Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky

    Cragganmore ist eine schottische Whisky-Destillerie im Dorf Ballindalloch in Banffshire, Schottland.

    Die Destillerie wurde 1869 von John Smith auf einem von Sir George Macpherson-Grant gepachteten Grundstück gegründet.

    Smith wählte den Standort sowohl wegen seiner Nähe zum Wasser des Craggan Burn als auch wegen der Nähe zur Strathspey Railway. Smith war ein erfahrener Brenner, der bereits die Brennereien Macallan, Glenlivet, Glenfarclas und Wishaw geleitet hatte.

    Die Strathspey Railway ist heute stillgelegt und bildet die Fernwanderroute Speyside Way.

    Cragganmore wurde von United Distillers unter ihrer Marke Classic Malts vermarktet. United Distillers ist inzwischen ein Teil von Diageo.
