DESCRIPTION

Für die Limited Edition Vellichor konnte sich Compass Box etwa auf Single Malt einer der berühmtesten Destillerien Schottlands stützen: Macallan. Den malzig-süßen, öligen Whisky ergänzen fruchtige, erdige Komponenten von Highland Park, ein Hauch Küstenrauch von Caol Ila und schwere, ledrige und dunkelfruchtige Blend-Bestandteile aus Sherry Casks. So komponiert, gelingt der Blended-Scotch-Rarität das nachzubilden, wonach sie benannt ist: Vellichor, die einzigartige Atmosphäre von Antiquariaten. Typisch für Compass Box passt auch die Verpackung zum Inhalt. Vellichor wird in der als Buch gestalteten Geschenkverpackung ausgeliefert.

HIGHLAND PARK DISTILLERY Acht wiederaufgefüllte Holzfässer. Aromen von trockenem Moschusleder kennzeichnen diese als grundlegend für das Vellichor-Projekt. Am Gaumen ist er lächerlich fruchtig und erinnert uns an fröhliche viktorianische Poesie, die bei einem Glas Wein vorgelesen wird. Etwa 50% ABV.

BLENDED SCOTCH PARCEL Ein nachgefülltes Sherry-Fass mit dem Namen 'Old Orkney'. Keine Verbindung zur geschlossenen Stromness-Destillerie. Fast 42% ABV.

BLENDED MALT PARCEL Zwei nachgefüllte Sherry-Fässer. Schwere gekochte Früchte und Gewürznoten deuten auf ein geerbtes, gut durchgeblättertes Kochbuch für Desserts und Puddings. Etwa 41% ABV.

CAOL ILA DISTILLERY Ein nachgefüllter Hogshead. Schöner alter Rauch, aber immer noch mit überraschender Saftigkeit - wie ein Almanach aus dem achtzehnten Jahrhunderts, das im Schuppen aufbewahrt wird. Etwa 46% ABV.

MACALLAN DISTILLERY Zwei erstbefüllte Ex-Bourbon-Fässer. Mit seiner schwergewichtigen Textur und glänzender Aromatik ist dieser Whisky wie ein Bildband über die Gestaltung eines herrschaftlichen Gartens, den auf dem polierten Eichenschreibtisch Ihres Klavierlehrers Lehrers. Ein ABV von etwa 56%.
