Moden und Rezepturen ändern sich. Blended Whiskys der 1970er, 80er und 90er Jahre unterscheiden sich stark von den heutigen Versionen, selbst wenn der Markenname derselbe bleibt.

Das "Extinct Blends Quartet" stellt vier beliebte Blended Scotches aus vergangenen Zeiten neu vor, wobei einige der seltensten und eigenwilligsten Whiskys des Abfüllers verwendet werden.

Ultramarine ist inspiriert von den antiken Sherry- und Pfeifentabaknoten eines luxuriösen Blended Scotch, der erstmals in den späten 1980er Jahren auf den Markt kam.

Die erste Veröffentlichung des Quartetts der Extinct Blends ist kräftig im Geschmack und beeindruckend in der Textur und basiert auf reifen Malts aus den Brennereien Caol Ila und Glendullan, gealterten Trebern aus den Brennereien Cameronbridge und Girvan sowie einer Mischung aus vorgemischten Beständen.

Die Aromen umfassen Toffee, antike polierte Eiche und komplexe Torfigkeit, während der Gaumen voll von gerösteten Pekannüssen, Rosinen und Rauch ist.
