BESCHREIBUNG
This is the sixth edition of Flaming Heart, a whiskey born of oak, smoke and fire. Flaming Heart was first released in 2006 and was the first whiskey to combine the rich, complex spiciness of new French oak aged Scotch with the energizing peat smoke of Islay malt whiskey.

He created a genre-bending style that was smoldering, flavorful and complex - and so popular that the distillery re-launched it five more times in the years that followed.

In this 2018 release, the distillery has reintroduced a subtle sherry cask influence, adding an extra layer of complexity and richness. A medium smoky-peaty base is enriched by a sweet maltiness and hints of baking spice and dried fruit.

A whiskey to enjoy late into the night, perfect on its own or paired with rich cheeses.

    Compass Box wurde im Jahr 2000 von dem Amerikaner John Glaser ins Leben gerufen, der zuvor als internationaler Marketingdirektor bei Johnnie Walker tätig war.

    Der Modus Operandi und die starke Arbeitsmoral von Compass Box machen das Unternehmen zu einem unabhängigen Abfüller und Blender wie kein anderer.

    Compass Box kauft einzelne Fässer und konzentriert sich auf die Herstellung eines handwerklichen Boutique-Produkts. Keine ihrer Abfüllungen wird kühlgefiltert, es werden keine Farbstoffe hinzugefügt und alle werden ausschließlich in amerikanischer Eiche gereift. Dies verleiht dem Whisky seine charakteristische Süße.

    Eine ihrer einzigartigen Abfüllungen und ein hervorragendes Beispiel für ihre Methodik ist Compass Box Hedonism. Dabei handelt es sich um eine Vermählung von acht bis fünfzehn verschiedenen Grain-Whiskys, von denen die meisten über zwanzig Jahre alt sind und die alle in amerikanischer Eiche gereift sind (first-fill).

    Hedonism wurde bei den World Whisky Awards 2008 als bester Grain Whisky der Welt ausgezeichnet. John Glaser selbst wurde viermal im Whisky Magazine als Innovator des Jahres ausgezeichnet.
