BESCHREIBUNG
Milroys of Soho is an iconic bottle shop on Greek Street in London. The business was founded in 1964 by John and Mary Milroy, but it wasn't until John's brother Wallace joined the company four years later that the focus on whiskey would catch up with interest in wine.

This Clynelish was distilled in 1997 and aged for 23 years. It was bottled for Milroy's in 2021.

The current Clynelish Distillery was built in 1967 to replace the smaller distillery next door that originally bore that name. Clynelish is part of the Diageo group and was acquired by DCL in 1925. Although an important ingredient in Johnnie Walker blends, it has long been bottled as a single malt.

TASTING NOTES
Nase
Nose		 Floral and fruity with a light touch of sea salt. A hint of tangerine provides a nice balance between sweet and citrusy.
Gaumen
Palate		 Oaky and fruity with a rounded peppery coastal note. A touch of coastal smoke.
Abgang
Finish		 Refreshing, malty, citrusy with a very light hint of smoke.

  • Clynelish - Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

    Die Clynelish Distillery ist eine Brennerei in der Nähe von Brora, Sutherland in den schottischen Highlands.

    Die ursprüngliche Clynelish-Brennerei wurde 1819 erbaut und grenzt an die heutige, in Betrieb befindliche Clynelish-Brennerei, die 1967 errichtet wurde.

    Als Clynelish in den Jahren 1820 bis 1822 mit der Destillation begann, wurden etwa 12.000 Gallonen (rund 54.000 Liter) pro Jahr hergestellt. Im Laufe der Jahre wechselte die Brennerei von einem Besitzer zum anderen, bis sie um 1896 auf rund 580.000 Liter erweitert wurde und ein zusätzliches Lagerhaus auf dem Gelände errichtet wurde.

    In den 1960er Jahren ging jedoch immer mehr von Clynelishs Spirituosen in die Mischungen, und in den 1960er Jahren gab es einen Boom, und die Menschen kauften mehr Luxusartikel wie Autos und Whisky. Also musste man die Produktion erhöhen.

    So wurde 1967 die heutige Brennerei gebaut, in der noch heute produziert wird. Eine Zeit lang wurden die beiden Brennereien als Clynelish A und Clynelish B nebeneinander betrieben, da man sicherstellen wollte, dass der Geschmack in den neuen Räumlichkeiten perfektioniert wurde. Im darauf folgenden Jahr wurde die ältere Brennerei geschlossen.

    Clynelish hat seit vielen Jahren eine enge Verbindung zu Johnnie Walker Blended Whisky. Etwa 95 % der Spirituose werden für Johnnie Walker verwendet, vor allem für den Gold Label Reserve.
