DESCRIPTION
Der Whisky, der aus der Bio-Gerste von Mid Coul gebrannt wird, spiegelt die komplexen natürlichen Aromen der Landschaft wider. Die Brennerei hat sich geweigert, das traditionelle Handwerk der Destillation zugunsten von Automatisierung oder Industrialisierung aufzugeben, und lehnt den Einsatz von Herbiziden, Pestiziden und Kunstdünger ab.

Die Gerste muss ihren Weg in einem siebenjährigen Zyklus gehen, in dem auch Bio-Rinder, Schafe, Hafer, Bohnen, Gras, Karotten, Gemüseanbau und ein Megawatt Ökostrom produziert werden. Der Respekt vor dem Land, dem Boden und dem Klima nährt ein echtes und gründliches Verständnis des Terroirs, und das Ergebnis ist der reine Bruichladdich.

TASTING NOTES
Nase
Nose		 Frisch gemälzte Gerste, Melone, Pfirsich und Aprikose. Öffnet sich mit Noten von reichhaltigem Honig, Zitronenbaiser und blumigen Noten von Ginster und Heidekraut. Vanille-, Karamell- und Gebäcknoten aus dem Holz stehen in schönem Gleichgewicht mit der Intensität der Frucht, die mit Anklängen von Birnen, Äpfeln und Stachelbeeren immer noch die frischen grünen Früchte der Spirituose andeutet.
Gaumen
Palate		 Süße Birnentropfen, Vanillepudding, Schokolade und Marzipan zu Beginn. Keinerlei Aggressivität, nur gut integrierte Aromen und eine runde, sanfte Textur. Die Eichen- und Malznoten ergänzen sich so gut, dass sie sich mit geröstetem Roggenbrot, buttrigem Popcorn und frischer Eiche, Vanillefondant und weichem Karamell überlagern. Die Biogerste scheint mehr Frucht aus der Destillation und eine dickflüssigere Textur zu geben, was eine Freude für die Geruchssinne ist.
Abgang
Finish		 Süße Zitrusfrüchte, Zitronentropfen, kommen im Abgang gut zur Geltung, und eine leichte Holzkohle vom Eichenholz verleiht Tiefe. Der Abgang fühlt sich eher maritim an, ein wenig salzig neben der Eiche und dem Malz, was wunderbar funktioniert.
