Matured in a stimulating combination of bourbon and sherry casks, Bowmore 15 Year Old 'Darkest' spent its last three years in Oloroso sherry casks, which gives it its intense dark color, which is also reflected in the name, and its comfortably warm finish.

    Der ursprüngliche Islay Whisky. Der Pionier. Bowmore ist die erste lizenzierte Islay-Brennerei. Sie steht seit 1779 an den Ufern von Lochindaal, einem Meeresloch, das in den wilden Atlantik mündet.

    Bis heute wird die Brennerei auf traditionelle Weise betrieben, wobei die ursprünglichen Techniken der Whiskyherstellung beibehalten werden. Bowmore wird auch heute noch in Handarbeit hergestellt.

    In jeder Phase wird Zeit investiert. Und diese Sorgfalt und Liebe zum Detail schaffen den einzigartigen und zeitlosen Hausstil von Bowmore. Einzigartige Single Malts, die unnachahmlich bleiben und wie kein anderer auf Islay altern.

    Einige Historiker glauben, dass der Name Bowmore von einem kleinen schwarzen Riff in der Nähe von Lochindaal abgeleitet ist, während andere das nordische Wort für versunkenen Felsen, bogha mor, als seinen Ursprung angeben.
