BESCHREIBUNG
The first issue of Fable deals with the legend of the 'Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay', a tale set on the south west coast of Scotland near Stranraer. Fable has collaborated with artist Hugo Cuellar to create an enchanted world in which label illustrations highlighting characters and scenes form a series of eleven chapters.

Chapter 4, Bay is a 12 year old Benrinnes aged in ex-bourbon hogsheads and bottled at 58.9% ABV with only 272 bottles being produced.

TASTING NOTES
Nase
Nose		 Bitter tangerine peel, dark chocolate, cold brew coffee, yeast and slightly tart white wine.
Gaumen
Palate		 Pencil shavings, toasted oak and spices in the back - cinnamon - with added water - slightly creamy, lemon curd, lemon barley sweetness.
Abgang
Finish		 More chalk, liquorice, vanilla, lemon candy, pineapple and pear, a little hint of spiced oak in the background. The finish is medium-short, creamy, soft, pounded ginger.

  • Benrinnes - Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky

    Benrinnes ist eine 1826 gegründete Malt-Whisky-Destillerie in Aberlour. Benrinnes hat seinen Namen von dem Berg Ben Rinnes (841 Meter), einem der wichtigsten Gipfel der gesamten Speyside. Die Brennerei verwendete bis 2007 ein einzigartiges partielles Dreifach-Destillationsverfahren.

    Das Dreifach-Destillationsverfahren wurde 2007 aufgegeben, als man zu einer üblicheren Konfiguration mit zwei Wash Stills und vier Spirit Stills überging.

    Benrinnes setzte einige ungewöhnliche Produktionstechniken ein. Zwischen 1974 und 2007 verwendete die Brennerei ein einzigartiges partielles Dreifach-Destillationsverfahren. Bei diesem Verfahren werden die Feints aus der Wash Still, die schwächeren Teile der Feints der Spirit Still und die Feints aus der Low Wine Still selbst in einer Low Wines Still destilliert, während die Spirit Still mit den Foreshots und dem Herzstück der Wash und Low Wine Still sowie ihren eigenen Foreshots und starken Feints gespeist wird. Die Hälse der Destillierapparate werden durch Wurmkübel gekühlt, eine Technik, die heute nicht mehr sehr verbreitet ist.

    Der größte Teil der Produktion geht in die Blended Diageo: Johnnie Walker, J & B und Crawford's 3 Star. Die offizielle Abfüllung ist während der gesamten Lebensdauer der Brennerei auf nur 5 Abfüllungen beschränkt.
