DESCRIPTION

The Ardbeg Spectacular Limited Edition is a unique single malt whisky released specifically to celebrate Ardbeg Day 2024. This limited edition combines the typical smoky character of Ardbeg with an unusually sweet profile. The whisky is aged in rare port wine and ex-bourbon casks, giving it a complex array of aromas.

The nose opens with fragrant notes of lavender, vetiver, and incense, accompanied by leather, almonds, and a hint of wax. On the palate, salty and smoky flavors develop, complemented by eucalyptus, salted caramel, smoked pecans, and tar. The finish is long-lasting, featuring leather, salted caramel, and a refreshing menthol note.

    The distillery has earned global acclaim with its award-winning expressions. The Ardbeg Ten Years Old, for instance, was named World Whisky of the Year and Scotch Single Malt of the Year in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2008. Ardbeg Uigeadail continued this trend, receiving the same accolades in 2009 and 2010. Such recognition cements Ardbeg's status as a producer of exceptional Scotch.

    Ardbeg's pioneering spirit extends beyond traditional whisky-making. In 2011, the distillery sent 20 vials of Ardbeg spirit and wood particles to the International Space Station, showcasing its commitment to innovation. Despite its international fame, Ardbeg remains deeply rooted in its local community, employing around sixty staff members who reside locally.

    Operating with two pot stills, Ardbeg produces approximately 10,000 casks (1.4 million liters) of spirit annually.
