Unmistakable smoky intensity. charcoal and creosote. Curious hints of fennel and celery mixed with wood smoke.
Nase Nose |
Intense with a burst of charcoal, creosote, tar and syrup toffee, with odd notes of fennel, celery and green peppers. As these notes fade away, there are hints of milk chocolate, anise and wood smoke.
With a small drop of water, more vegetal notes such as fennel, coriander and lavender appear, along with the aromatic wood smoke typical of Ardbeg and a hint of fresh, salty sea spray. |
Gaumen Palate |
A pronounced peppery mouthfeel leads into a complex symphony of flavors: syrup toffee, aniseed, salted caramel, chocolate, eucalyptus, menthol and briar wood, to name a few. The tingly, peppery sensation on the palate continues, with the sweeter flavors giving way to spicy notes like charcoal, smoked bacon, burnt toast and tar. |
Abgang Finish |
The aftertaste is long and persistent, with hints of peppermint and clove. |
