Von Laphroaig an der Südküste bis Bunnahabhain ganz im Norden: Für Elements of Islay wählen die Elixir Distillers Abfüllungen aller aktiven sowie teils inaktiven Brennereien der Whiskyinsel aus. Ihre köstlichen Elementarteilchen komponieren die Abfüller, die sich unter anderem mit ihrer Marke Port Askaig einen ausgezeichneten Ruf unter Islay-Liebhabern erworben haben, aus Fässern unterschiedlichen Alters und zum Teil unterschiedlicher Destillerien.

Das Ziel: die volle Bandbreite der insularen Malt Whiskys mit ihrem medizinischen, torfigen und maritimen Charakter abbilden.

Diese neue Abfüllung in kleinen Chargen fängt die Essenz von Islay ein. Elements of Islay CI14 verbindet den maritim-torfigen Charakter eines Caol Ila Single Malts mit der Frucht und Würze eines andalusischen Starkweins. Ihre feine Komplexität entwickelt die Abfüllung in einem American Oak Hogshead und anschließend drei Oloroso Sherry Butts. Das Ergebnis? Cremige, süffige Noten von pürierten Himbeeren, jodhaltigem Meeresdunst, dunkler Schokolade und würzigem Rauch.

NOTES DE DÉGUSTATION

Nez	Küstenrauch, überlagert von geräucherter Makrele und Frucht-Chutney. Angenehme pikante Noten verflechten sich mit Karamell.
Bouche	Noch süßer und üppiger als in der Nase. Schichten von Trockenfrüchten, Himbeerpüree und Kirschen. Orangenschalen verbinden sich mit leichtem Rauch und Gewürzen.
Final	Ausgewogen und anhaltend mit dunkler Schokolade, Lagerfeuerglut und Granatapfelkernen.
