TASTING NOTES
Nose Schöne Torfschicht, gefolgt von etwas Honigsüße und einem Hauch von Vanille. Rotwein, rote Beeren und Zitrone im Hintergrund.
Palate Etwas Torf mit einer Note von mit Honig glasiertem Räucherschinken. Eine Prise Salz mit einer Reihe von frischen Früchten, wie Orangen, aber auch Waldfrüchten, vor allem Blaubeeren und roten Beeren.
Finish Mittellang bis lang. Rauch und Eukalyptus. Ein Hauch von Ingwer und Zimt.

  • Port Charlotte - Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

    The Port Charlotte Distillery is located on the Scottish island of Islay and is known for its heavily peated single malt whiskies. The brand was revived by the Bruichladdich Distillery, which is about two miles south of Port Charlotte. Bruichladdich produces the Port Charlotte whiskies to honor the original Lochindaal Distillery, which operated between 1829 and 1929.

    Port Charlotte whiskies are renowned for their intense peat notes. With a phenol content of 40 PPM (parts per million), they are among the heavily peated whiskies of the island. Typical flavor profiles include aromas of smoke, maritime notes, spices, and sweet fruit notes. A popular release is the Port Charlotte 10 Years Heavily Peated, which offers a complex mix of sweet smoke, salt, oak, malt, and fruit flavors.

    The whiskies are matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, which adds additional depth and complexity. Another notable product is the Port Charlotte Islay Barley, made exclusively from barley grown on Islay, capturing the uniqueness of the island in every drop.
