Old Grand-Dad is a bourbon whiskey brand distilled at the Jim Beam Plant in Clermont, Kentucky. Basil Hayden Sr. - known to subsequent generations as "Old Grand-Dad" - crafted bourbon according to his own vision.
He diverged from the traditional grain mix of the time and chose to distill his bourbon with a higher proportion of rye. This method of bourbon production was likely passed down to his son, and then to his grandson, Colonel R.B. Hayden, who rightfully named his bourbon after his old grandfather.
The recipe is still inspired by Basil's original, featuring complex flavors and a distinctive spiciness. The bourbon was first bottled in 1882 and has changed little to this day. And that's the only way we want it.
