DESCRIPTION

The Talisker Parley – Wilder Seas Limited Edition is a single malt Scotch whisky created in collaboration with Parley for the Oceans. This limited edition has an alcohol content of 48.6% ABV and is bottled in a sustainable bottle made from 100% recycled glass, reducing the CO2 emissions of the glass bottle by 82%. The bottle also features a ceramic decoration that eliminates the need for paper labels, replicating the topography of the coastal landscape of Skye.

Talisker Parley – Wilder Seas is aged in former XO Cognac casks made from French oak, which gives it remarkable depth and complexity. On the nose, typical coastal notes and spices are complemented by hints of raisins, plums, and caramel. On the palate, sweet notes of raisins and chocolate unfold, accompanied by a touch of campfire smoke, black peppercorns, and a mineral note. The finish is medium-long with a hint of iodine, lingering pepper, and soft wood smoke.

This release supports projects to preserve marine forests off the coasts of Scotland, Chile, and South Africa. For every bottle sold, Talisker donates £3 to Parley for the Oceans to support their ocean conservation initiatives.

  • Talisker - Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky

    Die Talisker-Brennerei ist eine schottische Single-Malt-Whisky-Destillerie mit Sitz in Carbost, Schottland, auf der Halbinsel Minginish auf der Isle of Skye.

    Die Brennerei wird von Diageo betrieben, und der 10 Jahre alte Talisker-Whisky wurde als Teil der Classic Malts-Serie nominiert. Die Marke gilt als Premium Single Malt Whisky.

    Die Spirituose wird zumeist in Fässern aus amerikanischer Eiche gereift. Das Malz wird bis zu einem Phenolgehalt von etwa 18-22 Teilen pro Million (ppm) getorft, was einem mittleren Torfgehalt entspricht. Außerdem fließt das zur Herstellung verwendete Wasser aus Cnoc nan Speireag (Hawk Hill) über Torf, was dem Whisky zusätzliche Komplexität verleiht.

    Anfang der 2000er-Jahre begann die Brennerei mit der Herstellung von Spezialabfüllungen für Kenner, wobei es eine 20- und eine 25-jährige Abfüllung gab (vorher waren nur eine 10- und eine 18-jährige erhältlich).

    Die 25-jährige Abfüllung war zwar teurer als die 20-jährige Abfüllung, wurde aber weiter verbreitet.

    Im Jahr 2007 wurde der 18-jährige Talisker bei den World Whiskies Awards als "Best Single Malt In The World 2007" ausgezeichnet, und im Jahr 2015 gewann der 10-jährige Talisker bei der San Francisco World Spirits Competition eine Doppelgoldmedaille und den Preis "Best Single Malt Scotch up to 12 years".
