Marking its 9th anniversary, the Isle of Harris Distillery takes another step in its whisky journey with the Hearach Oloroso Release. Distilled and matured on the idyllic Isle of Harris, this single malt is crafted with Scotland’s softest water and embodies the essence of the Hebrides.

Maturation in Oloroso Sherry Casks

The Oloroso Sherry Butts are sourced from the prestigious family-run Bodega José y Miguel Martin in Andalusia, Spain. These premium casks, which previously held exceptional sherry, impart remarkable depth and complexity to the whisky. Thanks to this exclusive maturation, a rich and perfectly balanced single malt is born.

Crafted with Heart and Precision

This lightly peated single malt (12-15 ppm) is made with pure Hebridean water filtered through ancient Lewisian Gneiss rock. The result is a unique harmony of subtle smokiness and the opulent richness of sherry.

TASTING NOTES
Nose Initially, winter aromas of cinnamon, orange peel, and cloves evoke memories of Christmas at home. Green herbal notes blend with the nostalgic creaminess of white chocolate from childhood days.
Palate On the palate, the flavors of walnuts and warm fireside wood smoke emerge. The dram develops with a hint of thyme from the kitchen, followed by dried oranges. Spices like vanilla pods and a subtle touch of cloves then come to the forefront.
Finish A long and elegant finish with notes of fine leather and licorice completes the tasting experience.
