DESCRIPTION

Generell gilt: Smögen Whiskys sind kraftvolle, charakterstarke Tropfen mit deutlicher Rauchnote, maritimen Anklängen und malziger Süße. Für die Heavily Peated Swedish Single Malts der gleichen Torf-Gewichtsklasse wie Caol Ila oder Ballechin importiert Caldenby Torfmalz aus Schottland. Daraus brennt er ausschließlich Destillate für kleine Batches oder Single Casks.

Mit dem Smögen 100 Proof legte der Schwede im Jahr 2020 den Grundstein für eine Core Range. Mindestens sechs Jahre lang reift der kräftige Single Malt an Schwedens Westküste in Oloroso Sherry Quarter Casks. Die Markenzeichen der bernsteinfarbenen Abfüllung? Torfrauch, Trockenfrüchte, Vanille, Teer, Zimt und Orange.

    Smögen ist eine Destillerie in Schweden, die Single Malt Whisky und Gin herstellt. Gegründet wurde sie 2009 von Pär Caldenby, einem Rechtsanwalt, Whisky-Enthusiasten und Autor von Enjoying Malt Whisky.

    Die Brennerei befindet sich auf einem Bauernhof in der Nähe von Hunnebostrand, an der Westküste Schwedens, nördlich von Göteborg, und ist nach der nahe gelegenen Insel Smögen benannt.
