DESCRIPTION

The Lochlea Harvest Edition (Third Crop) Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Scottish Lowlands is an expression of the seasonal rhythms of the independent, family-run farm distillery Lochlea. The small batch releases are precisely tailored to the agricultural activities of each season.

The Harvest Edition (Third Crop) is inspired by the busy harvest season when, during summer sunsets, the barley for the following year's whisky is brought in. This single malt was double matured in refill bourbon barrels, port hogsheads, and an Oloroso sherry butt, giving it a complex and multi-layered aroma profile.

With an additional year of maturation, it offers a new perspective on the sweet and summery flavor profile of the harvest whiskies. It is characterized by rich dessert notes balanced by spicy black pepper. With an alcohol content of 46% vol., this whisky is non-chill-filtered and uncolored, preserving all natural aromas and textures.

    The Lochlea Distillery is located in Ayrshire, Scotland, and was founded in 2014. It is situated on the historic Lochlea Farm, which was once farmed by the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns. The distillery was initiated by Neil and Jen McGeachie and follows a sustainable approach, utilizing local resources and growing its own barley. Production began in 2018, with the first release in 2022.

    Lochlea is known for its innovative and seasonal releases. Popular editions include the "Sowing Edition," the "Harvest Edition," and the "Ploughing Edition." These whiskies reflect the seasons, each offering a unique flavor profile.
