Der üppige und einladend krautige Glenmorangie „A Tale of the Forest“ ist der erste Whisky von Glenmorangie, der aus Gerste hergestellt wird, die mit Pflanzen aus dem Wald getrocknet wurde.

Inspiriert von den wechselnden Wundern der Natur, denen er bei seinen Wanderungen in den Wäldern in der Nähe seiner Heimat begegnet, hat Dr. Bill Lumsden, der Direktor für Whiskykreationen bei Glenmorangie, eine uralte Methode zum Darren von Gerste mit pflanzlichen Stoffen wieder aufgegriffen. In diesem Fall wählte er Wacholderbeeren, Birkenrinde und Heidekrautblüten.

Die duftenden, waldigen Tiefen des Whiskys haben die Illustratorin Pomme Chan dazu inspiriert, sich ihren eigenen fantastischen Wald auszudenken. Ihre Illustration, die die Aromen und Pflanzen des Whiskys feiert, ist auf der Verpackung des Whiskys abgebildet.

TASTING NOTES
Nose Waldähnliche Tiefe in Geschmack und Aroma, beginnend mit einem Bouquet von Kiefer, Wacholder und Koriander, zusammen mit gerösteten Kastanien und einem faszinierenden Flüstern von Rauch.
Palate Der Geschmack explodiert im Mund. Wirbel von Pfefferminz. Ausbrüche von Eukalyptus. Rascheln von Bitterorange. All das schwebt auf Wolken von Vanille mit verblüffenden Anklängen von schwarzer Lakritze.
Finish Ein langsamer und üppiger Abgang, der Zitrone, Orange und einen sanften Hauch von Eiche enthält.

  • Glenmorangie - Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

    The Glenmorangie Distillery, located in the Scottish Highlands, is one of the most well-known and renowned single malt Scotch whisky distilleries in the world. The distillery is situated near the town of Tain in Ross-shire and was founded in 1843. Today, Glenmorangie is part of Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), one of the world's leading luxury goods conglomerates.

    Glenmorangie was established in 1843 by William Matheson, who utilized the former buildings of a brewery for whisky distillation. Since its inception, the distillery has continuously evolved and modernized to produce high-quality whisky. In 1918, Glenmorangie was acquired by the Macdonald & Muir family, who managed the distillery for several generations.

    A unique feature of Glenmorangie is the height of its stills. At 8 meters tall, the highest in Scotland, they contribute to the production of an exceptionally pure and light distillate. This allows only the purest vapors to condense and be processed into a fine whisky. Glenmorangie also exclusively uses natural ingredients, including barley and water from the Tarlogie Springs, known for their purity.

    Maturation plays a central role in the production of Glenmorangie whisky. The distillery is renowned for its expertise in cask management and uses a variety of casks to create complex and layered flavors. The cask types include ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak, carefully selected and specially crafted for Glenmorangie. Additionally, the distillery experiments with different cask types such as sherry, port, and wine casks to create special finishes.

    The Glenmorangie range includes a wide array of single malt whiskies known for their versatility and quality. The core expressions include Glenmorangie Original 10 Years, Glenmorangie Lasanta, Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban, and Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or. Additionally, the distillery offers limited special editions and exclusive vintage whiskies, highly coveted by collectors and connoisseurs.
