  • Glenlivet - Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The Glenlivet Distillery is a distillery near Ballindalloch in Moray, Scotland, that produces single malt Scotch whisky. It is the oldest legal distillery in the parish of Glenlivet and the production site of the whisky of the same name.

Founded in 1824, it has been in almost continuous operation since. The distillery remained open during the Great Depression, and the only closure occurred during World War II.

In the post-war period, the Glenlivet distillery developed into one of the largest single malt distilleries. The Glenlivet brand is the best-selling single malt whisky in the United States and the second-largest single malt brand in the world.

Today, the distillery is owned by the French beverage manufacturer Pernod Ricard, which also oversees the production of 5,900,000 liters of whisky per year. Most of this - enough for 6 million bottles - is sold as The Glenlivet Single Malt, with the rest used for Pernod Ricard's blended whisky brands.
