DESCRIPTION

Die Hitzewelle auf den Britischen Inseln im Jahr 1976 führte zum zweitheißesten Sommer mit der höchsten Durchschnittstemperatur im Vereinigten Königreich seit Beginn der Aufzeichnungen. Die darauf folgende Dürre hätte die Menge des in diesem Jahr hergestellten Whiskys stark beeinträchtigt. 1976 wurde der Grain Whisky in diesem Blend destilliert.

Es handelt sich nicht nur um einen 45 Jahre alten Blended Grain Whisky, sondern auch um einen Blend aus nur zwei Brennereien, die beide seit langem geschlossen sind, wobei eine der beiden nur für einen sehr kurzen Zeitraum von etwa 22 Jahren in Betrieb war, bevor sie geschlossen wurde.

Mitte der 1970er Jahre gab es in Schottland 12 Grain-Whisky-Brennereien, die ihren Whisky für Hunderte von Mischungen lieferten, die weltweit verkauft wurden.

Die erste, North of Scotland, wurde 1980 geschlossen, die letzte, Port Dundas, im Jahr 2010. Dies ist eine Verbindung von Carsebridge (1983 geschlossen) und North of Scotland, einer Brennerei, die es nur 22 Jahre lang gab.

Für diese Jubiläumsabfüllung zum 10. Geburtstag hat die Etikettenkünstlerin Emily Chappell das fabelhafte Blended Grain-Etikett, das ein Klipperschiff im alten Stil auf dem Meer zeigt, zu dieser geheimnisvollen Schatzkarte erweitert.
