Noch verfügt die winzige Craft-Destillerie nicht über genug eigenen Whisky. Um einen Vorgeschmack zu liefern, vermählt Nagahama den hauseigenen Spirit mit Malt Whiskys aus der ganzen Welt. Das Ergebnis: die Amahagan World Malts.

Amahagan Edition No. 3 Mizunara Wood Finish ist der dritte von der Nagahama Distillery hergestellte Whisky und der dritte in der World Malts Serie, die aus Blends neuer Malts besteht, die vor Ort in Japan destilliert und aus dem Ausland importiert werden.

Der Amahagan Edition N°3 Mizunara Wood Finish wurde in Mizunara-Fässern (Quercus Crispula), der berühmten japanischen Eiche, abgefüllt, um den Einfluss verschiedener Fasstypen während der Reifung zu betonen.

Er zeigt ein reichhaltiges und komplexes Profil mit fruchtigen Noten von Zitrusfrüchten wie Orange, Gurmand-Noten von dunkler Schokolade und orientalischem Zucker sowie würzigen Noten, die typisch für in Mizunara-Fässern gereifte Whiskys sind.

TASTING NOTES
Nose Obstgartenfrüchte von roten Äpfeln und reifen saftigen Orangen, Karamellsüße und duftende Eiche.
Palate Chocolate Orange führt zu dunklem Karamell und lebhaften fruchtigen Noten.
Finish Dunkle Schokolade, Zitrusfrüchte und Eiche.

  • Nagahama - Japanese Whisky

    Nagahama may be Japan's smallest distillery, with about 26 square meters, but it plays its role well as part of a new generation of distilleries emerging all over Japan.

    Since the founding of Nagahama in 2016, the distillery team has brought some very interesting new spirits to market. The most recent release from Nagahama was a lightly peated single malt. Along with the first releases of the new brand, mini casks were also produced and sold, allowing fans to age the whisky themselves in a few weeks.

    These casks were made from American oak and charred like regular barrels. If you spell Nagahama backwards, you get Amahagan, the name that the Nagahama Distillery has chosen for their blending experiments.
