DESCRIPTION
The Daftmill 2011/2024 Winter Batch Release is a 12-year-old Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky produced by a family-run farm distillery that only distills during the off-season, when agricultural work is on hold. The Publican variety barley, harvested on the family’s own farm at the end of August 2009, was malted at Crisp Malt in Alloa and then distilled to create a spirit that was filled into 27 first-fill bourbon casks in December 2011. After approximately twelve years of maturation, during which the characteristic Daftmill notes of ripe orchard fruits, delicate grain, and subtle vanilla sweetness could develop, the whisky was bottled in 2024, with a total of 7,500 bottles produced. Bottled at 46% vol., without chill-filtration or added coloring, this limited release offers an authentic reflection of the Lowland distillery’s artisanal character, whose rare small-batch whiskies are appreciated worldwide.
