DESCRIPTION

The Daftmill 12 Year 2011/2023 Summer Batch Release is an exceptional Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Scottish Lowlands. With an alcohol content of 46% vol. and a bottle size of 70cl, this whisky is a limited edition of only 6,550 bottles. The uniqueness of this whisky lies in its production: the whisky is distilled at the Daftmill Farm, where agriculture is usually the main focus. However, since 2006, the Cuthbert family has also been using their own grain to produce this celebrated Single Malt.

For the production of the Daftmill 2011/2023, Publican barley harvested in August 2009 and malted in the summer of 2010 was used. The whisky then aged for 12 years in 27 first-fill bourbon barrels from the Clermont Springs distillery in Kentucky before being bottled in September 2023. This special aging process gives the whisky an exceptional aroma and a unique character.

Daftmill is known for distilling whisky only during the quiet phases of farm work, making production extremely limited and leading to high demand. The Daftmill 12 Year 2011/2023 Summer Batch Release stands out for its rarity and artisanal quality.

TASTING NOTES
Nose The whisky reveals fruity notes, enriched with caramel and vanilla. This bouquet is complemented by grassy and floral nuances, giving it a fresh and lively aroma.
Palate On the palate, the whisky is full-bodied and oily, with a creamy texture. The flavor notes of tropical fruits are prominent, accompanied by coconut, vanilla, and malt, as well as a hint of tobacco, leading to a rich and complex tasting experience.
Finish The finish is long-lasting and fruity, but then develops into a more bitter direction with accents of oak wood, tobacco, and spices, creating a pleasant and enduring conclusion.
