The Ninkasi Distillery, founded in 1997 in Lyon, France, is known both as a brewery and a distillery. The distillery was established by Alban Perret and his team and combines traditional brewing and distillation techniques to produce high-quality whiskies and other spirits. Ninkasi produces its spirits in small batches in Tarare, near Lyon, utilizing the expertise acquired since their first brewery in 1997.

Among the most well-known releases is the Ninkasi Whisky Chardonnay, aged in a combination of new French oak barrels and former Chardonnay and Viognier barrels. This whisky is characterized by aromas of tonka beans and salted butter toffee, with a background of white grapes. On the palate, notes of stewed apricots and plums emerge, with a long and smooth finish that includes a slight smoky note of fresh lemon thyme.

Another notable product is the Small Batch 2022 Edition, aged for almost four years in Marsanne barrels and offering a taste experience of candied ginger, grilled fruits with honey, as well as a biscuit-malty and floral citrus blossom profile. These releases reflect the distillery’s innovation and commitment to quality.
